- SwigNovember 14, 2014The menu is brilliant and helps guide you to exactly what you want to be drinking. The spot is rather hidden but a wonderful gem. Remember to Swig your drink.
- Easily among the city’s best cocktail bars and more easygoing than other speakeasies of its caliber. The menus are both artistic and instructive. Best vintage Chartreuse menu you’ll find in NYC.
- Bradley KayFebruar 19, 2017The best cocktail bar not in your guide to the east village. This is where you won't wait 1-2 hours, yet has an astounding menu served by bartenders equal to any other spot. Most underrated.
- Village VoiceMai 17, 2016The Way of the Warrior combines two kinds of rum, pineapple, vanilla, matcha, and coconut. The addition of a bitter element to this piña colada takes it beyond vacation status. Mehr erfahren
- Andie SleemanDezember 14, 2016There is so much room here!! One of my favorite spots when having cocktails with more than a couple of people. They do large format punches (awesome). Unique & helpful menu design.
- EaterFebruar 19, 2013From the guys behind Death & Co., including Joaquín Simó, Tales of the Cocktail 2012 American Bartender of the Year. Featuring everything from Tiki riffs to stirred classics, and the service is tops.
- Raj SarmaAugust 25, 2013The Hot & Heavy is my recommendation, a well crafted cocktail with great balance & flavour. But before you enter and while you leave, don't miss out on a chance to chat with Henry, best bouncer ever!
- DoubleDeuceJanuar 2, 2016Surprisingly big and bright upstairs. The menu is wonderfully creative. A good spot for a slightly larger group of 3-5. Same great cocktails you find at similar specialty cocktail places.
- Andrew PerezDezember 12, 2017Chartreuse all day baby! Ask about it, sip it, enjoy it. Everyone that works here is so well informed, so just tell them what you like and they’ll help you out. The menu can be a lot.
- Opened by former Death & Co barman, Jaoquin Simo, this cocktail lounge is both speakeasy and laid back offering an extensive menu of new and classic cocktails, plus a specialty for Chartreuse.
- JeffreyDezember 16, 2013Home to 1) a ton of great cocktails laid out on a very cool cocktails matrix, 2) a Tales of the Cocktails best bartender winner of 2012, and 3) one of the best Chartreuse collections in the city.
- Zlata ZubenkoJuni 24, 2018Loved my cocktail, Radio Rebelde. Perfect balance and the cherry just melted on the tongue! Great bar, not loud, not crowded 👌
- Mike McBryanDezember 23, 2014Surprisingly open and well lit space for a "speakeasy" - which I enjoyed, as I could see and hear my drinking partner, but the atmosphere is still secluded and warm. Drinks, as expected, were great.
- Andrew KippenMärz 28, 2013Great cocktails & simple atmosphere (although volume can be loud). Don't be confused by the wait outside - it's their way of doing things. Banter with the bouncer, slow down, and enjoy yourself.
- Amanda RellaOktober 29, 2018Hidden behind a nondescript door and up some stairs. Creative menu with a matrix of cocktails. Bar is pretty large but not super busy. Suggest to put on some music in the background!
- Kristina RudicMärz 19, 2017Unique cocktails! Bartenders really know what they're doing so ask for recommendations. They won't steer you wrong. The #14 is refreshing and a crowd pleaser.
- Alp OzcelikMai 29, 2014Such good cocktails! A bit on the pricey side but totally worth it! The menu changes so be sure to look at all options!
- Time Out New YorkApril 11, 2013There are flawless standards here—a strapping Manhattan, a tingly champagne cocktail fizzing w/ sugar & Angostura bitters—but big-swinging bar talents really come out to play w/ their original drinks. Mehr erfahren
- Michael DonovanOktober 24, 2016Another speakeasy within a speakeasy inside. Just enter the Subway next door and cut through the back. It's still part of Pouring Ribbons, but offers a more exclusive space.
- new cocktail bars are popping out every week in NYC but this one really surprised me. Excellent cocktails, great ambience and super nice bartenders. Already one of my favorite spots in the EV.
- CITY GRITAugust 5, 2014Not your mama’s cocktail bar. We don’t want to spoil the fun that comes from reading the cocktail list, so we’ll just say that you can’t go wrong with the Dueling Banjos or the Dead Ramones.
- PUNCHSeptember 24, 2015Pouring Ribbons is well-versed in the classics, but going off-piste is also rewarded with eccentric ingredients including seven-spice-pumpkin-coconut mix, corn milk and yogurt. Mehr erfahren
- Alex MizrahiJuni 17, 2013"Pouring Ribbons, in a rather unlikely upstairs space in the deep East Village, is a paradise for the unashamed cocktail geek: spectacularly sophisticated, adventurous modern drinks in the classic..." Mehr erfahren
- Angela WenDezember 4, 2015Good place to go with a group or date as it's hardly ever full but has a nice ambiance. Cocktails are on the pricey side.
- Erin FinneganOktober 6, 2014The menu here has amazing graphs and a chart!! Lots of room inside... Looks closed, but it's on the second floor. THERE'S A CHARTREUSE TASTING MENU. MY GOD!
- RDWOktober 16, 2012Almost wish this gem could stay hidden, if you appreciate the cocktail, & are willing to pay for it, this dark & private spot is for you, best Old Fashion I've ever had, and waitresses ain't shabby... Mehr erfahren
- Jeffrey WootenJuly 27, 2013If you like bourbon start with eye to eye (fruit driven), then in spades and the coup de grace being the vieux carre. You can't go wrong. You will not mind waiting for the "L" train.
- Mikahla VicinoNovember 19, 2017Cozy old school decor paired with an innovative and fun cocktail menu. I appreciate the chart that helps you map out your perfect drink.
- Nicole FormicaJuly 2, 2015Great selection of custom and classic cocktails! Be sure to come early to avoid the crowd
- One of the best Old Fashioneds I've ever had. Ever. Moscow Mules are great as well. You really can't go wrong with any drink. These guys are awesome.
- Ross WSJanuar 16, 2017Having listed in the World's Top Bars in 2013, Joaquín Simó, Jason Cott and Shannon Tebay’s Pouring Ribbons continues to hold high regard among our industry experts.
- Brendan LewisJuni 24, 2014If it's not too busy, just tell the bartender "Dealer's Choice" and she'll make you some drinks they're thinking of putting on the menu. Good way to spend a night
- HectorApril 23, 2016Check out the map on the menu to let you know which kind of drink you should choose (spirit forward, refreshing, etc). Good cocktails 👍
- TingMärz 31, 2013Great cocktails. I love the barometers they have on the menu to indicate how adventurous is each drink. Be careful about the bill though. They overcharged us by $100.
- Diana FuJuni 27, 2015Very spacious but cozy and intimate! Drink menu is very thoughtfully laid out, showing spectrums of comforting/adventurous and refreshingly/spirituous!
- Ehrin FeeleyDezember 29, 2012Great drinks. Great staff. The decore is the downfall here. It feels drab and boring... It should have way more character and atmosphere especially considering their menu is so interesting.
- Candice DSouzaNovember 30, 2016Superior cocktails. Take the extra time needed to go through the well designed menu and understand what cocktail you are in the mood for.
- Time Out New YorkOktober 5, 2018Claim a barstool to watch a pro expertly stir your drink in a beaker-like glass, or settle your crew into one of the cozy dark-gray banquettes. Mehr erfahren
- JamesOktober 9, 2013The most amazing drinks menu I have ever seen - don't read it, just use the graph on the first page and choose your drink by 'feel'... Every drink was a winner.
- Rachael BrungardAugust 19, 2013An entire page devoted to aged chartreuse? Yeeeeeeeeees. Also, whenever you get a special chartreuse they give you a regular one to sip with it for FREE. To "compare". Offsets the price, too.
- Kuo-yu LiangApril 8, 2018Coolest thing is their rotating themed cocktail menu. This time it was 20 drinks inspired by 1959 Cuba, last time it was The Silk Road.
- Emi SuzukiApril 12, 2014this is my favorite cocktail bar in EV/ABC. used to get the duck and cover a lot but they have a new menu for spring. already a fan.
- Go off menu and ask for a "Hot and Heavy"...since the menu is seasonal, that drink isn't always there, but if you like spicy drinks, they'll make one for you
- Serious EatsMärz 14, 2013The One Flight Up is a riff on a pisco sour, with Campari and soda mingling in the bottom, and a faint whiff of orange flower water.
- Gabriel HayesJuly 18, 2015Great cocktails in Alphabet City. I got the Rags to Riches (made with Fighting cock bourbon, cardamaro, vanilla, root beer bitters) and really enjoyed it.
- AmateurConciergeSeptember 24, 2016Beautiful cocktail menu and somehow never seems to be too crowded. Great alternative to the overhyped spots 5-10 blocks south
- Lukas RačkauskasJuly 27, 2013Henry sets you for a promising start. Cocktails well priced and rather creative. Nice night spot, worth adding to your NY to do list. Keep it up.
- Jinnie LOktober 13, 2014hands down- my #1 go to cocktail bar in the city ;) she's no lady is pretty good but old fashioned n third rail are delicious♥
