Be prepared to wait as they don’t take reservations. Start with the pork buns and the peppers. Then try the Akamaru Modern with a bottle of Yebisu. Your mind will be blown.
Richly flavored broth is the highlight of this Ramen joint. Go for the Hakata Tonkotsu with very firm noodles and very rich (more pork fat) – don’t be scared by the fleck of pork fat you’ll see.

Very rich broth here compared to other ramen joints, but we love how full it is. Our vote is for Black Garlic Oil ramen.
Worth the trek to 11th Ave. to sample the much talked about ramen, which competes with the likes of the nearby Ippudo and Totto. We've only had the Tokyo Shoyu, but we'll be back soon to try others!
Delicious, inexpensive and savory noodle shop. Try the Hot & Sour Dumpling Soup, the crispy pork noodles or the cold rice noodles. If it’s busy, be prepared to wait.
The best Pho outside of Chinatown and a great alternative when you’re tired of waiting at Totto Ramen. We liked the Braised Port with Egg served in a clay pot.
