If you plan going to Pompeii or Ercolano visit this museum first - the best items from the excavations. Many boring items though, skip some halls. The "secret" room with porn frescoes is really funny.

O Museu Arqueológico é uma visita obrigatória em Nápoles. A parte relacionada a Pompéia é incrível, principalmente pela beleza e riqueza dos mosaicos, estátuas e como era o dia-a-dia dos habitante.

Worth seeing museum, big and spacious enough, you have to sit for about 2 hours to see all the collections preserved from the pompei ruins and more! No discount for the students :(

You probably need to do this over two days or take a guide with you who can point out the important items. What have the Romans done for us? Quite a lot!!
If you went to see Pompeii or Herculaneum, you must go here to see the artifacts recovered from the scavi. A truly spectacular collection of antiquities.
The ticket is quite expensive 9€ for students, 13€ normal, but it deserve to understand better the history of Pompei/Herculaneum. You need a couple of hours to see the entire collection.

They don't let you leave small-ish bags in the cloak room, even if they're heavy :( ... Some great stuff, though the day I went half the rooms are closed (I hear that happens in summer).
