One of four original squares laid out in 1733. It was often called the Marketplace Square, but was actually named in honor of Henry Ellis, Georgia's 2nd Royal Governor. See the new water works!
Open space for sitting or hanging out with friends. Also a great meet up spot since it is so open. It separates City Market from the rest of the downtown area going East.
Designed in 1733. In honor of Henry Ellis, the 2nd Royal Governor. The "Old City Market" was located & merchants sold crops and wares. Once lost to urban sprawl, the old city square has been restored.
Several buildings sat on this site since the 1700s. The last, a parkinggarage, was removed in the early 2000s. Take advantage of the new parking underneath. www.architecturalsavannah.com
