- Jouni PärssinenAugust 20, 2014Try the mixed plate and don't be intimidated by the long line, these guys work fast. Watch out for the sauce in the bright red bottle. That stuff will kill you.
- If you know any better, you'll know the carts are all the same & if you're at the original with the Godforsaken longest line you're either: 1) A sucker 2) A tourist. Go across the street or on 52nd ✌️
- R TDezember 20, 2018Over rated-Prices are going up& not worth it anymore with less quantity. Chicken over rice is good with W&R sauce. shah halal food make the best halal food ( they are main in queens area)
- Ata SOktober 10, 2016There are so many better other "chicken and rice" spots in the city, avoid this hype of once a great cart now a factory spot. Cooking everything in bulk with very little care of attention to details.
- Pile on the white sauce which is basically liquid crack and careful with the hot sauce but it's fantastic if you like it hot. Try some first then add more in!
- This place is better than 53rd and 6th!! The original halal guys are on 52nd and 6th! The godfather is on 52nd and 6th cooking up the best halal meat in the city!
- Annie NguyenDezember 9, 2013Know what you want before you get in line! It's like that episode of the soup nazi. They'll be annoyed if you hesitate :) Theres also 3 carts now all around the same area!
- Dang LeAugust 13, 2014The wait is more than worth it! Big portions of gyro/chicken over rice for $6. Make sure you specify if you're ordering to-go or eating it right away. Don't go too crazy with the hot sauce...

- Marwan MzOktober 10, 2015IF YOU ARE VISITING NYC, YOU ARE REQUESTED TO TRY THIS FOOD TRUCK. Chicken with rice over it. Do not add too much from the red sauce, you will be in trouble 😄😄😂😂
- Jennifer WuJuni 16, 2015It's definitely worth the wait in line for this reasonably priced bowl of chicken and rice goodness! The ranch sauce to top it off perfects the dish.

- M. Silver AssociatesJanuar 11, 2012It's the best - we're fans! Can we please have an iPhone app to track it down? :) There's always a line. Great after a night of drinking. To avoid long line, come around and pay $10 (it costs $5.50).
- Mo FroApril 29, 2014Love this place! Great stop if you have folks visiting from out of town or another country. The whole experience is worth it! LOVE THE HOT SAUCE!!!!!!!
- NayDezember 22, 2014Cheap, mix chicken and gyro over rice hits the spot ever time! Don't fret over the long lines, it moves fast. 2 thumbs up on the hot sauce!
- DaneAugust 17, 2015If there's a long line, it's worth checking out their other cart on the opposite corner--sometimes that line is shorter! Beware of the imitators!
- Anup ThomasJanuar 13, 2013Great food, cold service, open just about every night. I always get the mixed platter, no need to complicate things with custom orders.
- BashayerMai 12, 2014See that long line??!! The wait is well worth it. Get the gyro sandwich w/ extra hot sauce on the side if you like spicy. & it's only 6&!!
- Nando TiconDezember 12, 2014The white sauce is tolerable, the red one will set your soul aflame (go easy on it, really really hot!). Amazing food for amazing price!
- Noticed on my last trip to NYC that the line for this cart always stretched down the block, even late at night. So we tried the chicken on rice this trip, and now we know why the lines were so long!
- This is the Original Chicken & Rice Cart Location.. As the name says it get u'r chicken on rice, then smother it with the Hot, BBQ, or Ranch sauces.. Enjoy it with Pita Bread...
- Chicken or lamb + pita over rice w/white sauce is simply perfect... A must do in NYC!
- New York Hilton MidtownJanuar 9, 2012For years, masses of people have been flocking to this cart to satisfy their hunger w/ simply the best meal in the City. Best tip: Ask for extra white sauce. It makes the meal! - Andrew / Sales Dept.
- Charles DornbushMai 1, 2013Go here for late night! Gyro chicken mix with white sauce and a little bit of red sauce, the red is very spicy
- Get the lamb on rice- the bits of warm pita mixed in are delish. Drown it in the white sauce, easy on the hot sauce, and add some BBQ if you're feeling tangy. All $6. Grab a drink nearby- $1.
- Zach M.März 9, 2013Watch out for imposters. The real deal are the guys in yellow sweatshirts. The yogurt and hot sauce are outta this world. Hands down the best street meat in NYC
- Megan RossMai 17, 2012You know it's the right one because of the line. Falafel + lamb combo is amazeballs. White sauce is great, add liberal amounts. Try the red sauce if you dare-- ridiculously hot!
- Christine HaFebruar 29, 2016$7 for huge portion. Mix chicken & lamb gyro over rice. Extra white sauce. Red is spicy--eat at your own risk. Look for yellow shirts that say "original."
- Daniela RiquelmeDezember 9, 2016The best food truck in New York. Very close to MoMA. People line up, but wait for the food. It's cheap and good.
- BuzzFeedMai 30, 2018
- Lamb and rice. Ask for an excess of white sauce, you'll be happy you did. If you can handle spicy (and by spicy I mean willing to risk the formation of a stomach ulcer), say yes to the red sauce.
- djnessnycAugust 26, 2011The OG truck is on the southwest corner of 53rd & 6th. The one on the south east corner is usually less crowded, but the EXACT same crew... & will have on the trademark curry color Halal Guy Polos
- Tanay JaipuriaAugust 24, 2014Best chicken and rice in the city. Worth the wait (there almost surely will be one)
- Get the Chicken Platter with a decent amount of white sauce. Go very easy on the red sauce if you don't eat very hot foods and use a lot if you love hot food like I do.
- Cris LauerJanuar 15, 2016Fast and delicious NYC street vendor just as the reviews said. Genuinely nice guys, too. Hot sauce was a plus 👍🏽👍🏽
- Victoria TJuly 12, 2014Don't let the long line scare you away. It moves fast and is definitely worth the wait! Get your platter with white sauce and BBQ sauce and be wary of the hot sauce...
- Christopher PiazzaDezember 27, 2013The chicken and lamb plate will be the greatest thing you'll taste in the whole damn city! (And ask for extra white sauce, it's magical)
- Anup ThomasJanuar 13, 2013Great food, cold service, open just about every night. I always go with the mixed platter, and douse it with white sauce. The hot sauce is no joke.
- Lisiane LacerdaOktober 13, 2015Muito bom! Adorei o sabor!
- Get the chicken/gyro combo, slather on white sauce, dot on hot sauce (it's killer), and ask for a lid in case you don't finish it. Identical carts across and down the street - look for the yellow bags
- MayraJuly 5, 2015If you come to NYC forget about eating $5 street hotdogs, eat this! Great spicy, tender meat. It's worth the wait!
