new place that opened about a yr ago, bare bones but good, try taco sampler plate, home-made tortillas, there was a mole taco with crema and pumpkin seeds that i loved, close drive from med center

If you like Thai food, this is a MUST, in middle of Thai town (by Los Feliz!), good green papaya salad and pad thai
Japanese, more like fusion Peruvian-Japanese, good sushi but famous for other plates, order the "omakase" (mean's chef's choice), need reservation or take a chance at the bar, good for an occasion
they say the best Pastrami and Corned Beef outside of NYC, a must-try, near MacArthur Park in DTLA (SKETCHY) so only go during daylight hours, food better if you eat it there
Silverlake/Los Feliz area, charming French place, I go there for desserts but they have a full menu there as well
