There's a secret room behind a fake wall on the 1st floor where you can see the original building exterior from before the expansion. It's also where they keep people who go looking for this room.

The New Orleans Museum of art includes a magnificent sculpture garden that should not be missed. The Museum is closed on Mondays, but the garden is open seven days a week and is complimentary!

NOMA resides in the middle of City Park with easy access for an afternoon of fun. Bike, kayak, or scooter around the park, explore the museum, and be sure not to miss the outdoor sculpture garden.

The Museum of Art is the city’s oldest fine arts institution. It houses over 40,000 objects as part of its permanent collection. Don’t miss the Syndney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden next door.

Such a great spot to get so close to the paintings you can see every brush stroke and minute crack. Sudden and happy realization there were no barriers and I could be nose to canvas (figuratively!)!

Wednesday's entrance fee is waived thanks to a generous gift to the city! Take advantage of their generosity and see Italian masters as well as Warhols and Picassos!

Walk through the outside sculpture garden. We almost skipped it because it didn't look like much from the outside. But it was really great!

Take the museum tour at 2pm. The cutest lady will take you around. Make sure to see Marie Antoinette and the gold Lincoln cabin.

The small POP art exhibit on the second floor was a pleasant surprise. The Scuplture Garden is one of my favorite places in the city...its closed for maintenance until spring, though.
