Good venue for live music. A nice space in the back where bands perform. A nice deep (though low) stage so your band mates won't all be crowded on top of each other!
A really nice luxury to take the edge off a long flight. A mix of shower rooms, mini spa treatments & a restaurant/bar. Breakfast was particularly good after an overnight flight. Staff are friendly.
Nice large sandy beach; well kept & fairly clean. Lots of busses of mainland tourists, but there's enough space so it's not too bad. There's changing facilities & a good activity playground for kids.
The high end Chinese restaurant at the Jockey club. Cantonese banqueting food done really well, with excellent and attentive service.
Classic Cantonese dishes are best here. Prawn toast; Sweet & sour pork; Fried chicken were all excellent. Good for big groups.
Awesome Taiwanese food & snacks. Very simple hole in the wall cafe, but food is excellent. Beef noodles & chicken leg + lou rou fan were great. I also loved the sausages and braised egg. Very homely.
Although it's a VERY LOUD restaurant, I really like the food, atmosphere & service. Suckling pig & the seafood dishes are standouts here, along with desserts. Also the outside terrace bar is very nice
Large Chinese restaurant at the Jockey club, food is very good, & quite cheap. It is very popular, a booking is necessary or you'll end up queuing. Classic BBQ & Cantonese dishes are good choices here
Char Siu was excellent here, very juicy with a nice bit of crisp / char on the side. General dim sum is also really good, all the classics of Siu Mai and Cheung Fan were done really well. Recommended.
A large single table restaurant that's good for large parties. The organiser can select from a variety of fusion menus, covering Shanghainese /Japanese cuisines with a European twist. Duck was good.
If you've got kids then this is a 'must do'. The zoo is massive, animals have quite lot of room & there's loads for the whole family to see & do. A bit outside the city, but has a train stop close by.
Set meals are great value for money, you get @ least three dishes. Rice / noodle, a soup, and a vegetable. Lu rou fan is great. Good place for cheap Taiwanese food, way better than Formosa Chang.
Good selection of Asian cuisines. Taiwanese lu rou fan is always great. Getting seating can be difficult, as spots get snapped up quickly. Very clean and it's all pretty cheap & very good value.
Flawless service, they really welcome & are great with kids. Club king rooms are excellent, breakfast, afternoon tea & cocktail hours make it really worthwhile. Breads, cakes & pastries are delicious.
Huge kids playground that's really popular. Loads of swings, slides, climbing frames & activities kids enjoy. Also there's a massive sand pit alongside that's great fun. Excellent if you have kids.
Beautiful park, really peaceful and calm in the middle of Taipei. A great place to watch birds, ducks, and feed squirrels, you can get really close. Great place to jog or come and practice Tai Chi.
Really interesting Asian fusion dishes. Lots of choice, and quite cheap. I will come again.
Cocktails are good, but they are all very French - Kir Royale, Chambord, Odeon etc. I tend to prefer more classic American cocktails, but these were all well mixed. Happy hour prices are from 6-8pm.
