Always queues at the food tills. Surely it can't be too hard to stop staff gossiping behind the fridges and get them to open all the tills. Can it?
Added self-service checkouts to the food section, if queues are still too long take your items to the clothes section
In the Food section, try the fresh pasta. It's awesome!
