Go early in the day and, if you have young kids, start at the petting zoo, while the animals are wakeful.

Get in at least 3 hours prior to closing. They put the larger animals in an hour before closing.

Today was the fundraiser. Therefore no vendors,food place closed, and guess what? There was 3 elephants and a hippo. Pretty sad now that a fundraiser is happening do we actually get to see the animals

Chimps get pretty wild and crazy around lunch feed time. Playground is good picnic spot. Bring your own snacks, concessions are nothing to Woot about.

Worst zoo experience I ever had. Most of the exhibits were closed. Other exhibits were not laid out in a manner to where you could see the animals (I.e. tall grass and inclines)

Try and get to the Zoo in the morning when they open. The animals are not very active in the afternoon when it warms up.
