- MattApril 6, 2013The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They will help you find the good spots for dinner and brunch in the area. Location on Sutter street is convenient, 15min walk from Union Square.
- Truth KnowledgeDezember 29, 2012Great customers service, beautiful ambiance, daily wine reception for free, walking distance to Union Square, cable cars, Powell Street - had a great stay
- Rhonda RiceJanuar 8, 2015I like Joi hotels so we tried it. Love the decor. Our room was cozy. Location isn't bad. On the edge of being the seedy part of town if you happen to walk towards Union Square. But it was all good.
- Nice hotel overall but doesn't compare to Hotel Vitale (another SF JDV hotel). Staff are friendly, location is convenient, rooms are well appointed. 2 things I'd change: pillows + Air Conditioning!
- Felipe MatheusApril 12, 2022Excelente hotel, bem localizado, é possível ir a pé até a Union Square, ChessCake Factory, porém caso esteja de carro, precisará pagar um estacionamento particular na esquina do hotel.
- harryhMärz 22, 2015It's more of a budget hotel with a fresh coat of paint than a place that's actually very nice.
- Rachel DelaneySeptember 1, 2013Staff is really friendly. They make you feel at home. Nice place to stay in SF. Free wine from 5:30 to 6 pm for guests!
- Justine JordanOktober 3, 2013Pros: Cute hotel with quirky & helpful employees, free wifi and a snazzy wine hour. Cons: no A/C, thin walls and sketchy neighborhood. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
- Marcelo MirandaAugust 15, 2012Good budget hotel. Not fancy at all, but confortable enough and the reception desk team is more efficient and friendly than a lot of five stars out there.
- Enrico ZiniJanuar 19, 2015Carino, stile indiano x la media di s. Francisco ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo e buona posizione. Da evitare il ristorante arabo anche a colazione!
- Make the most of the free wine at 17:30. It's only for 30 minutes though, so get a couple of glasses in. Tip staff for a bigger glass. ;)
- MJPFebruar 15, 2011Excellent place to stay. Staff is beyond friendly and helpful. Rooms are new and clean. Great views and location. Very surprising considering it costs so little!
- Stephanie ArroyoJanuar 11, 2011Beautiful rooms! So homie :) and the room constantly smells great like aromatherapy! Love it! Oh and the people at the front desk are amazing! Ask for Edgar :)
- Brock LaBordeDezember 23, 2012People with small dogs: this hotel will upgrade your small dog to a large dog if you ask politely at checkout. Otherwise, your dog will stay small.
- Alison Byrne FieldsDezember 7, 2018Incredibly thin walls: I could hear the man next door snoring (and farting).
- Jenn GJuni 29, 2013Be sure to sign up for the Joy of life program, which includes some great perks like room upgrades and complimentary wine.
- Decent hotel if you plan on only sleeping there. No air conditioning, so if it's a hot streak like it was with us, you're screwed. Hotel staff, however, is top notch! Very helpful and friendly.
- Felipe MatheusApril 12, 2022Hotel confortável, bem localizado, é possível ir a pé até Union Square, ChessCake Factory.
- Good location for visiting San Francisco, friendly staff and clean rooms
- e_tingNovember 7, 2011Friendly staff, rooms are a bit old, manky carpets but otherwise clean. Lots of noise - both from street and other rooms. Free internet.
- Katherine LautenbachAugust 21, 2013Hotel staff is great! Very good sense of humor. It's clean and well decorated.
- Mike JJuni 7, 2018Really thin walls, I could clearly hear the next room's TV. The hotel looks pretty old too.
- People that work here are really nice. In the 809 room you can have a shower watching a bit of the city movement by the window.
- savoryexposure.comAugust 17, 2011A great place to stay in San Francisco on a budget, a personal favorite
- Amy EMai 31, 2010Great, affordable hotel with an amazing staff! Free wine in the lobby from 5:30-6:00 every night!
- Kerry RegoApril 21, 2013They serve free happy hour to guests with Snazz awesome keyboarding stylist!
- e_tingNovember 7, 2011If you've used the valet, make sure you call at least 5 mins ahead, it takes a bit of time.
- Hotel TonightAugust 9, 2011If you’ve got the hour, they’ll make it happy! Complimentary wine at 5:30pm.
- Lisa-Anice SutphenNovember 20, 2014This place worked well for my mother and brother as a central hub for their trip to SF
- Donny HammellJuly 7, 2010Great hotel, although walls are a bit thin and I could hear the guy next door coughing up a lung!
- Jenny MMärz 1, 2013Feb 2013: there's construction across the street and they were going at it at 3 am through out the am. Horrible night of sleep
- savoryexposure.comAugust 17, 2011Save money on a car rental by booking online and walking to the Hertz Local Edition nearby
- Stayed from Feb 11-15 great hotel but the only thing was that it's a very noisy hotel hard to sleep at night
- Marissa MiracoloAugust 26, 2013This is not a good hotel!!! Horrible customer service. Unhelpful and rude staff. Weird smells in the room. Stay here if you like ice cubes - that's the only good thing I can say. Go elsewhere !!!
- Badger BadgerMärz 20, 2016I stay here every time I visit SF. Great 1920's hotel, styling and features. Friendly staff, great location.
- Cecilia WeckstromAugust 17, 2015Rooms are cozy, beds comfortable, staff lovely but for breakfast you are better off heading to Farm to Table around the corner!
