When this place opened it wasn't exactly the hottest spot. That is, until it filled with Japanese expats who clearly recognized something great. Specializing in regional miso, it rivals even Ippudo.
Though it's turned a lot towards duck, old favorites like fatty pork buns smeared with hoisin and the whole pork shoulder mobbed with raw oysters remain. And did we mention the desserts?
While plenty of neighborhood restaurants are making tiny, expensive, artisan pies, this little stall makes a far superior version. Read: extra oil, extra herbs, and shockingly good tomato sauce.
Vegetables (a.k.a. dirt candy) are the stars of this menu, and as freaky as it may sound, one of the best dishes is (drumroll): tiramisu with eggplant.
