Plan enough time to not only see the inside of the Biosphere 2 but to enjoy the surrounding property as well. Stunning views of the Santa Catalina Mountains can be seen from here

Everything is cool. The tour took about an hour, and covered quite a bit of the facility. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic.

They allow bottled water on the tour but no other liquids. Unfortunately, the vending machine at the gift shop was *gasp* out of water before the tour! You may want to bring a spare water bottle.

Welcome to one of the most interesting things at U of A! Explore the many ecosystems. In 1991, eight people were locked in for 2 years, to conduct experiments and see if they could survive!

When Biosphere 2 was built, the coastal fog desert was designed to model the desert found on the Pacific side of the Baja California peninsula.

If you take a tour, you are actually now able to go inside the Biosphere 2 and experience under the glass exhibits like the ocean or the rainforest. New exhibit:Phoenix Mars Lander was interesting

If you take the tour, you might not want to wear a dress or skirt. It gets very windy!
