The entrance is kinda hard to find as it's completely painted over. Good thing there were arrows and friendly museum security guards taking breaks to point us the right way
It was almost closing time so we got a stamp for out next visit - very kind of them
This stunning museum was once a police vehicle warehouse, until transformed by Frank Gehry in the 1980s into what has been called "a prince among spaces".
I like this better than the main MOCA building. More room for large scale installations.
Came here for the hipster gathering aka book fair. It was people watching galore
One of the best modern art museum that inspires you or leaves you scratching your head.

With cutting-edge exhibitions, hands-on education programs and popular evening events, this is a must-see for contemporary art enthusiasts. Free admission every Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Can't wait to see the Urs Fischer exhibit. It was so cool to make sculptures out of clay here!
Thursdays after 5pm are free. Save some scratch for Japanese food in this neighborhood.
Free Admissions from 5-8pm on Thursday nights. Also with your ticket purchase for this museum you can get into the MOCA on Grand St free. There is also a shuttle that takes you there for 50 cents.
Go see Transmission LA
One of my favorite spots in all of LA and I'm happy you're here. Check out their main location on Grand Ave. too. Become a member!!
I love this huge warehouse type space. I saw two of mt favorite shows there: The Dennis Hopper Retrospective (Opening Night) and 'Art in The Streets'.
You can park near Little Tokyo and walk to the MOCA, a tad bit cheaper, and you get to stroll through some cool stuff on the way.
See the exhibits for free every Thursday from 5-8pm.
Free on Thursday after five
Mondays are FREE!!!
Play on the piano in the cosmic fun room @ Art In The Streets exhibit.

Street art & graffiti exhibit is awesome
For Art in the Streets, Space Invader placed multiple pieces around the entire museum. I found 11 (12 including the featured piece).
Every Monday of the Art in the Streets exhibit is now FREE courtesy of Banksy
Love that it is free on Thursdays 5-8! Art in the Streets is a MUST see!
There seems to be some major lines for 'Art In The Streets' show. If you go to the MOCA Grand location, you can buy tix w/ no line, grab a free shuttle to this MOCA, walk right in, passed that line.
"Art in the Streets" was amazing!!! And I had my doubts this could be pulled off. Nice work!
Art in the Streets exhibit: 17-Apr to 08-Aug 2011.
Some great works on display this month.
For me, this MOCA venue continues to have more exhibitions that are more interesting than those @ the primary venue.
Dubbed the "temporary contemporary," this MOCA venue is a spectacular space for contemporary art. Only thing that could make it better is if Burden's "Exposing the Foundation" was ALWAYS on view ;)
check out the MOCA on thursdays...free from 5 to 8!
