    Alternative, even cheaper food & drinks at Peninsula Plaza basement 1, a few mins walk along artistic sheltered walkway (with bling bling flooring at night). No shelter at the traffic light crossing.

    Entrance is free for Singaporeans. However, the gallery should make the best routing known to visitors. It is easy to be lost in the gallery. The rooftop has a great view of the city.

    Huge so warrants multiple visits. The part I saw provided a very interesting overview of the history of Singaporean art. Included some remarkable pieces. The building itself is quite something too.

    So much space but not so much art. They could use their space better. The visitor navigation through the museum could be better. The text in the art description boards are too small and hard to read.

    The newly opened National Gallery is the first museum in the world dedicated to Southeast Asian modern art. Highlights include the Rotunda, Chief Justice Chambers and the old prison holding cells.

    Wow! You can really get lost here as there are so many staircases and turns. There's also a 6th level with restaurants that have a great view of the Padang. Free entrance for local residents.

    Nice architecture, the layout design for museum is horrible with many stairs, the art of Southeast asia is mix and match and lack of theme. Many good collection but bad organize.

    The Former Supreme Court building of the soon-to-be opened NGS is built on the site of the demolished Grand Hotel de l'Europe. It is slated to house/exhibit works by Asian artists.

    The triangular pediment features carvings by Italian sculptor Rudolfo Nolli & were painstakingly conserved with a soft-bristle toothbrush which cleaned not only the teeth but also eyes of sculptures!
