"The best thing on the menu at this BYOB Chinatown restaurant is, hands down, the dry chili fish filet. It’s insanely good. So are the green beans. Dine in to make a date of the whole experience."

Regular customer here but new to foursquare (and future mayor of this place). Mao's pork belly is a must. Make the basil eggplant your vegetable (forget everything you think you know about eggplant).

Jade tofu and Hunan-style crispy eggplant thrill the chili-pepper set, pea pod leaves target the garlic addicted. You don't have to order Lucky Braised Pig Hand unless you want to. Your call.

Whatever you do, get the dry chili fish. One of the best things I've ate this year, and I'm not even a huge fish fan. A lot of spicy and sour flavors here, heads up.

This is intense food, spicy and oily and built around pork and chicken. “Home fed chicken” is hung for two days to dry age before it’s lightly smoked over a wok filled with dry rice and spices. Mehr erfahren

Try the Home-fed chicken Xiang Xi–style from our 100 Best list: We don’t care about the misleading translation when the result is one of Hu’s best signatures.

Tony Hu's Lao Hunan is an ode to Hunanese cuisine in all its spicy, funky, pickled glory.

Ground Pork with Sour Pickle: Meaty and filling, there is also an unmistakable funk that never gets old.

It all begins from here, it all ends from here. Probably the best Sichuan cuisine in Chinatown here.

Amazing if you like spicy, salty, oily food. The Hunan-style chili in black bean sauce was especially good.

Even if veggies are not your fave, get the Jade Tofu, terrific (coming from a carnivore)

Get it spicy! The mild is quite mild and the chicken needs the extra kick.
