Their permanent collection is always interesting for all ages. One of my favorite places to go in New York is their Visible Storage Study Center. I could spend hours there discovering new pieces.
One of the largest and oldest art museums in the country, The Brooklyn Museum, housed in a gorgeous Beaux-Arts building at the top of Prospect Park, is also one of our favorite Brooklyn landmarks. Mehr erfahren
Check out The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago in the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art on the 4th floor for an incredible tribute to some of history's most important women.
The Brooklyn Museum traces its roots back to 1823, almost fifty years before Manhattan's Metropolitan Museum of Art was born. Its Egyptian collection is regularly ranked one of the best in the world. Mehr erfahren
A world-class museum right in the heart of Brooklyn, mixing art alongside historical artifacts and contemporary culture. I love how connected the curators of the museum are with social media.
My experience was cool! I like how it's pay what you want. I was intrigued by the blue section and happy to see a Jean-Michel Basquiat original. I even witnessed some conservation/restoration.
One of my favorite NYC museums- the exhibits are curated so well and often tell a fresh story about the artist. The architecture is also stunning on its own.

Visit on First Saturday of the month for free admission and themed parties. Great variety of exhibits. Ballroom always impressive. Make sure to check out The Dinner Party.
One of my favorite museums! I just love the juxtapositions here. You can see a lot of classics and a lot of contemporaryart side by side. Also, Duke Riley’s Erika mesmerized me.
Plan ahead and visit on the first Saturday of the month and enjoy Free Admission to the museum. We love the Egyptian collection and just stand in awe in The Great Hall.
Absolutely worth a visit. Great well rounded museum you can run through in an afternoon. A mini Met with similar collections and organization. Just more contemporary. Amazing building.
The second-largest art museum in New York City, and one of the largest in the United States, with a permanent collection of objects ranging from ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporaryart!
De los mejores museos en los que he estado y con una colección bastante buena e interesante, lleva tiempo suficiente para recorrerlo porque te encantara

Museum is consistently dedicated to exhibiting works ranging from unknown, cutting edge artists to more traditional works in the same space and it's always a wonderful juxtaposition and inspiration.
The borough’s largest museum is a must. With more than 1 million pieces to see, it’s easy to get lost among the Colonial era art,Egyptianantiquities & peculiar collection of South Pacific artifacts.

a sometimes under appreciated cultural gem in the heart of Brooklyn. it's good to see that despite the gentrification the spirit of the borough lives on inside

It's always fun to visit the permanent installation of "The Dinner Party," though I miss the printed guide, which, for me, is necessary to know who is/was whom. Too much to see in a single visit.
First Saturdays are wonderful, and the museum's got a great collection of feminist art. It's a neighborhood institution and one of the best museums in NYC.
Thought the 'Coney Island: Visions of an American Dreamland' exhibit was an interesting look at a New York institution's growth and change with America society through art #coneyvisions
Very nice collection - small, but well curated. Their African Art collection is amazing and they have done a great job with their Egyptian collection: unique pieces, well presented.
On the Jean Paul Gaultier retrospective: "It pays homage as much to Gaultier’s penchant for spectacle and provocation as it does to his clothing, somewhat ... to the detriment of the latter." Mehr erfahren
A local favorite of mine for over a decade since the Hip-Hop Nation:Roots, Rhymes and Rage exhibit in 2010 when i as in HS. Eclectic Exhibits. Great locale. First Saturdays for full free access +Music
Outstanding ancient Egypt collection! And a beautiful park. I can't understand why this museum is not usually listed as a top museumattraction of NY. :-)
Stop by the restaurant in the Museum for a tasty break, the special exhibits such as David Bowie are phenomenal. Tickets can also be purchased in advance.
The Brooklyn Museum is an art museum located in the NYC borough of Brooklyn. At 560,000 square feet, the museum holds New York City's second largest art collection with roughly 1.5 million works.
Good signage. Not as extensive as the Met's collection, but the crowds are significantly smaller. Don't miss the Assyrian reliefs -- fascinating, and incredibly ancient.
