Just like its downtown brother, you come to this Chinese hotspot for their amazing soup dumplings – get both the crab and the pork – they’re one of the best in NYC.
Worth the wait. Soup dumpling, the crispy pork, mushroom with bok choy and of course tsingdao! Perfect lunch. Will try the downtown location nxt time tho.
Lucky enough the live above here! SO tempting to eat every meal from here! Soup dumplings are incredible but don't forget the scallion pancakes, pork dumplings, general Tsao chicken, and everything!
Succulent crab and pork soup dumplings are a can't miss. The scallop and shrimp dumplings are very tasty too. The chicken and corn soup and stir-fried noodles with beef are good options for the kids.
The best pork soup dumplings & spicycabbage I've ever had - always my go to lunch spot on a budget! Outstanding freshness & awesome service. Yoko Ono has been known to visit upon occasion. #hotspot
For the adventuresome there is drunken crab, a sort of ceviche of raw Maryland blues marinated in yellow rice wine, with the cerulean of the shell creating a contrast with the electric-orange roe. Mehr erfahren
I’m a fan of the Joe’s in Chinatown but I won’t come back to this one. Make the trek downtown instead - the soup dumplings were too dry/everything was 1.5x the price. Silver lining: it’s quiet here
The pork soup dumplings are the reason to come! The beef lo mein was incredibly delicious also and the service was miles better than the pushy downtown location.
Far and away, the nicest of the three locations. The dumplings were still amazing and the staff was wonderful. You'll be hard pressed to find a better place to eat in Midtown.
Must haves: the salt & peppershrimp, and their moo shoo pork. Be careful not to over order! Their portions are generous, & besides, why on earth would you want anything but NYC's best soup dumplings?
Definitely the best dumplings I've ever had. Well done, Joe. My only regret is ordering things other than dumplings - after the first taste, they were all I wanted.
Soup dumplings are still delish at this location but you pay a higher price and get less dumplings than the Chinatown location. Get the Watermelon Slush :)
Very quick service, are you in a rush. That's a cool place. Decent price for the region and good stuff. Try the beef with black mushrooms and bamboo shots.
The soup dumplings are the highlight, and I find the crab/pork to be more balanced than the standalone pork offering. Scallion pancakes are well regarded but a bit too doughy in my opinion
There's a million reviews that will tell you this. If you go here, you will order the dumplings. Here's the secret: you will wonder how you can increase your stomach capacity to eat more.
The pork soup dumplings lived up to my high expectations. Regretted ordering the ~$20 genera tsao's entree at first but that ended up being pretty yummy as well.
If you want to take home the soup dumplings, call in 3 hours before so you can order them frozen and stock up. Then when you pick up, might as well eat there too. :)
pork soup dumplings are bomb. they give you less here and it costs more than their Chinatown location. also, their sautéed bok choy with garlic costs $15! eeeeek
The soup dumplings are SO much better here compared to their Chinatown location! Plus, you don't have to deal with a wait at all, even during prime lunch time of 12:30!
Reasonable prices ,Good food , we tried the scallions pancakes , but nothing special its like a nun bread texture . Dumplings and main courses are really good.
This location has better food, service, and decor than the one in Chinatown in the city, but the prices are nearly double. The dumplings are amazing. Good experience overall.
