Buy ticket online and avoid long lines even before ship opening. I was on board before ticket windows even opened for those who didn't buy online.

Take a docent tour. The vets who give the tours are great historical story tellers.

Very interactive tour, history rich. Don't recommend it to people short on time or claustrophobics

Don't bother paying for the parking at the museum. Drive further up toward Coronado and there is metered parking lot where you can get three hours for $2.50

Midway was stricken from the Naval Vessel Register in 1997. During the decommissioning process, she was used to film portions of the documentary 'At Sea', showing at the Navy Museum in Washington D.C.

An amazing tour. The aircraft carrier was retired not too long ago and all the tours are led by experienced pilots and crew.

Listen to the real people! Do the island tour and then head to the flight deck to hear about the "throw and catch"

Get there early, so you have lots of time and wear shorts, if you can. It gets HOT on the lower decks.

An awesome but pricey tour. You enter a life sized retired navy aircraft carrier. You have to pay for parking also but it gives you access to nearby park and venues. Top of the ship has aircraft

Did you know? The Midway was the largest ship in the world from its christening in 1945 until 1955. It was named in honor of the U.S’s 1942 victory in the Battle of Midway. Mehr erfahren

If you do not want to pay the $18.00 admission, but still would like to see the flight deck for free, just ask for "Bay Access" at the ticket center and you will be granted a free tour by a volunteer. Mehr erfahren

The places that don't get direct sunlight can get very cold on even a pleasant day due to wind. Bring a jacket!

The USS Midway has been turned into a floating museum and it's really cool. They keep opening up new sections of the ship, so I've been three times and each time there is something new to see!

Es un excelente ejemplo de lo que es un portaaviones y como fue evolucionando la tecnología de guerra en un portaaviones, las audio guías son una muy buena ayuda, el costo es realmente económico.

Do the free "island tour" and then on the flight deck listen to "the trap" aircraft presentation by a retired pilot. Look out the planes you can climb into!

Actually, the "Bay Access" is not a tour of any kind. It is simply for those who want to see an unobstructed view of the bay. You are escorted to the bow for a few minutes, and then led back down to

Commissioned in 1945, USS Midway (CV-41) was an aircraft carrier of the US Navy and is the only remaining aircraft carrier of the WW II era that is not an Essex-class ship.
