The Rose Cheesecake is nicely infused with rose and rests on a bed of beetroot crumbs. The Pisang Pengat is perfect for food porn photos. A Westernized local dessert. Interesting banana semifreddo.
Giant freshwater prawns (udang galah) is the theme ingredient here. Have it in pasta, fried rice, soup noodles, tom kha, tom yum, and cheese. The signature seafood aglio-olio with udang galah is good.
Great place for shaved ice. Impressed with their bestseller~ Iron Lady Milk Tea Kakigori. The level of sweetness is on-point, and the aroma of tea is unmistakable. Magically fluffy shaved ice.
Popular with the young crowd. Minimalist design. Korean Potion is a great americano at RM8. Perfect with a Hojicha pound cake. Strong tea taste, but a bit dry. Unique dessert here is the dacquoise.
One of the few, and better cafes in Equine Park. Food portions are generous, and drinks are pretty good. Sweetie chicken bowl is like Korean fried chicken, and comes with a free drink.
Cofftail is the specialty here, which means "coffee cocktails" (don't worry, they still have the usual coffee options). For that reason, the interior is oriented like a bar.
A cosy cafe in KTown with lots of natural light. The coffee and Hojicha latte is good. The Taro Cake has a very unique circular cream layering. The interior is tastefully-decorated.
A brightly-lit lifestyle store with multiple department e.g. bedding, furniture, kitchen, home-office, storage, curtains, etc. I tried their inhouse N-Cool bed topper (level 3).
The Special Wa Zen is a good choice if you like variety and have a big appetite. Interestingly, that set comes with natto. If you don't take raw food, go for the Hanaya Bento.
I am satisfied with the Chibarashi Hojicha latte. My partner tried the Wu Di, which is their house drink of coffee cubes, coconut milk, ginger, and gula melaka. If you don't like ginger give it a miss
Nice neighbourhood mall by Sime Darby with a great selection of food options, small ice skating rink, and a Jaya Grocer downstairs. The escalator handrails are automatically sanitized with UV lights.
Small kiosk underneath the escalator to have something sweet. A selection of ABC, Cendol, Buburchaha, nyonya kuih, and local beverages. The Melaka Cendol (RM8.90) is just nice for two.
Pretty nice mall that's easy to navigate due to its long-ish design. Many retail and food outlets. The anchor department store and supermarket is AEON. Expect jams into the parking due to SOP.
The Peking duck (RM128, needs an advance order) is a bit of a hit and miss. Some parts were crispy, some parts were not. Loved the Nam Yu Pork Ribs (RM18 per portion).
Spacious cafe with high a ceiling, and plenty of natural light. Plant-lovers will also get excited over this place. Selection of pastries (croissants, cinnamon rolls, etc), cakes, and tarts.
Surprising find for me was a nasi lemak sold by a granny at only RM2.50. Comes with fried fish and half an egg! Good sambal too.
Catholic Church with industrial style architecture. Private parking lot and community building. No pews in the church, but they use spaced out plastic chairs.
Choices available are: Hainanse curry noodles, chicken rice, pan mee, Taiping petai char kway teow, chu cheong fun, wantan mee, shredded chicken hor fun, and pork noodles.
Not too sure if the menu is very Spanish, but I did enjoy my dinner. Ordered several tapas, and I was surprised by the big portion. Chorizo omelette and BBQ pork ribs are recommended.
Barcook Bakery always reminds me of Singapore. Raisin Cheese and Walnut Pumpkin are the stars. Late in the evening, they have a buy 3 free 1 promotion.
A private dining experience in a quiet bungalow. Make a reservation and pre-order your mains. A deposit for at least one pax is required. Groups are spread into several nooks for privacy.
Reservations are required but you can try your luck. The barista patiently helped me choose a single origin coffee that fit my palate, and I was happy with the brew. The lemon cheesecake was also good
A large plant nursery selling all sorts of indoor and outdoor plants. Also gardening and landscaping supplies. The place is easy to maneuver. They also operate a cafe beside it.
Among their specialties are creamy lamb soup and signature lamb shank. The former seems to be missing some kick in my opinion, but the latter is pretty well-executed. Coffee on the acids side.
The church whose patron saint is St. Anthony of Padua has its roots traced back to 1894. It began as a chapel and its first priest was Rev. Fr. Rene (MEP). The current structure was completed in 1923.
The theme of this park is an "evergreen hill". A winding uphill path with lots of pines, cycads, cedars, etc. The paths are done up in concrete, and are very clean. Not a difficult walk.
Fish tacos (RM25) is great, but the star is the Iberico Ribs (RM90, 500 grams). Love that my order came with a chunk of soft bones, and a nice grilled aroma. The meat fell off the bones.
Big park around a lake. The main entrance is located at the West Lake (Jalan Kuantan), and there's a minor entrance at East Lake. Great place for a run, ride your bicycle, or do some rollerblading.
The long black (RM12) went well with the chocolate meringue roulade (RM15). The roulade's shell had a nice texture, wrapping a center of cream with bits of mango. Upstairs seating was not open.
