Nice workout of a hike up to Mulholland. Can be steep after rain due to erosion runoff.
Good trail in a creek to walk with kids. Shame there is so much trash, graffiti and people not wearing masks.
Great place to hike. The old youth camp trail is great if it’s not too hot.
Wonderful preserve with lots of easy trails to walk thru many different biological areas. Tons of wildlife to see as well.
Great trail with tremendous views over the valley. Mine is cool but there’s not much to poke around as it’s fenced off. If not doing the loop trail, go up the rise after the mine for a great view.
Beautiful rocks to climb on and in (if you can find some of the caves that have opened up). Crowded and not everyone wears masks.
Shockingly good sushi in the desert (where it seems like there shouldn’t be). The specialty rolls are huge and the bento boxes great value. Only downside is all the styrofoam for takeout.
Ample parking for the awesome Willow Hole hike - one of the best in the park.
One of the most beautiful places in the entire park. About 7 miles round trip hike, first thru an endless sea of Joshua Trees and then into the heart of the Wonderland of Rocks. So peaceful and empty.
Place is an institution. Worth the drive for the atmosphere. Food is ok.
Short trail that goes to an abandoned mining site that is surprisingly intact. Flat easy walk with beautiful views and interesting history.

Beautiful mission right on the edge of town. A nice rare bit of authentic architecture in Solvang.
Cool shop with lots of interesting stuff from Japan. Worth checking out even if you don’t buy anything.
Touristy but beautiful neon in the rain. Get there early as a lot of stalls are closed by late afternoon.
