Super easy and short trail that takes you to a beautiful mountain lake, filled with clear water, fish and stunning reflections. Go early to have it all to yourself.

Beautiful and pretty easy hike up to a small lake with tremendous views. It will be very crowded, but worth it. Keep a look and ear out for pikas.
Stunningly gorgeous spot of the Rocky’s. Reserve far in advance and drive in before 8:30am. You won’t have the place to yourself, but It’s a little less crowded than when the buses start arriving.
Nice upscale Latin food joint. The sea bass main and ceviche are both fantastic as is the mezcal old fashioned. Ample outdoor seating.
The wine is passable, but the amazing thing is the views across the valley and the model sail boats you can race down at the pond. Worth a stop for the last two while you have some meh vino.
Such a great place. Delicious salads and hard cider. Perfect for kids with live music most days. Plus, great Colorado wine to pick up and try. Come early to get your table and then check out the farm.
Museum that is much more interesting then we expected it to be. Good portrayal of the tribe’s history and America’s shameful treatment of indigenous peoples. Friendly staff.
Lovely trail, but don’t go expecting tremendous views. Neat walk thru different ecosystems. Go clockwise so the big climb is at the end. It’s easier somehow. Glad we listened to the rangers advice.
Probably your best option in Montrose. The carne adovada is surprisingly good as is the side posole. Huge portions and easy takeout.
A “must do” when visiting the park. Easy trail with amazing views in both directions.
Unsung national park that is home to the steepest and deepest canyon in the US. Some nice short hikes and totally doable to see it all in a day or two
This Airbnb is crazy in a good way. So much space and stuff to play with. Loved the train car for drinks and outdoor games. Sunsets can’t be beat. Great location for Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
Nice rooftop patio (even if the gatekeeper at the door downstairs is an asshole). Decent beer and good salads, but you are really here for the view.
While it’s full of bros, still a great place to grab a big beer and have decent food. Pork schnitzel is great. They also have wine but it’s not on the menu.
Small aquarium and museum. Neat when they have tall ships and the Marine Festival. Great for kids.
Surprisingly good museum with interesting exhibits and a good play area for kids. It helps if you are a total gear head.
One of the best patios in LA with an amazing view. The yogurt dip is crazy good as are the cocktails. A welcome addition to DTLA.
