Nice Apartment really is. Very inexpensive (US $10), charming, with lovely staff who will happily explain each aspect of the room/area. Clean. Neat. Long term stays available.
I was here in 2005 & again in 2013. The gem of this inexpensive inn is the simple & beautiful pool right off of the dining area. Unfortunately for this visit it was closed for cleaning or repair.
The food is varied & fantastic, the staff friendly & polite, swimming pool close to the ocean, and the least expensive rooms fairly decent. Lovely place overall.
Kayak around the island - two days, four hours each side to explore beaches & coves & caves. Top pick if you've got limited time/are lazy: 30 mins via kayak to the cove in the center of uploaded pic:
Charming restaurant with wooden tables right on the sand. Free wifi. Huge beanbags for snuggling with your sweetie. Haven't stayed in the lodges, but I'd guess that they're lovely as well.
First stayed here in 2005 when rooms were US $14 a night & attitudes were less...haughty. Can't afford to sleep here anymore, but bf & I sprung for a pool day. The beautiful beach & pool nearly touch.
Spartan & clean rooms. No hot water. Great value, nice staff. Free wireless. Must book for at least two days. As of this posting, rate was 700 bhat per night.
Friendly, joking staff but they can't seem to tell the difference between red & yellow curries. Go figure.
I almost don't want to mention the beauty of this secluded little spot, with gracious staff, delicious food, & original artist music. Snorkelers won't be disappointed & the prices are reasonable.
