The Oldest House in Glasgow. Built in 1471, the house was part of St Nicholas's Hospital and was built by a former Bishop of Glasgow, Andrew Muirhead.
A section of the stone base of the Antonine Wall runs through and can be seen here. The wall was built by the Romans from Forth to Clyde in the 140s AD.

Lord Burlington built a grand Palladian villa here with sculpture, gardens and a dome modelled on those of Imperial Rome. He also displayed treasures collected on his ‘Grand Tour’ of classical Europe.
