You'll find unique varieties of akvavit (aquavit), a traditional Scandinavian spirit that dates back to the 15th century. Some of our favorites are the beet, with its deep red color, and pear.

The vibe is very, well, Copenhagen. Service is just plain NYC. If you're in, try the bartender's recommendations and you can't go wrong. They do have great strong drinks.

TT: A placid, white-tiled oasis of Danish cool smack in the middle of Canal Street/Tribeca madness. Specials, from 4 to 7 p.m. daily, include $5 meatballs and $5 Evil Twin Low Life on draught.

Specializing in Danish smorrebrod (small plates and open-faced sandwiches), spoon pickled herring and tomato compote over dense rye bread. Daters be warned: it’s a breath killing delight.

Smørrebrød—the open-faced Danish sandwiches—arrive on the New York sub scene @ this modernist cafe. House-made rye is topped with ingredients like beef tartare or chicken salad & baked root vegetables Mehr erfahren

Smorrebrod, Danish. The juxtapositions can be mind-boggling, with cured fish, mustard, sour cream, dill, pickled vegetables, and cranberry sauce occupying the same tiny, teetering sandwich

One of the best Bloody Mary's I've had in a long time!! The one with ramp infused Aquavit has an amazing potent flavor.

Awesome service (unexpectedly)! Also, the Danish food rocks. Be prepared to be given free shots of akvavit with each dish... Arrive tørstig

Service just okay. And it way too long to get the bill. Food was good, though portions on the small side considering the price. Beef tartare and duck particularly delicious.

Order the cheese plate as it is delicious, but charging $1 for extra bread when they don't give you enough to begin with is very poor form.

The dinner menu is less Danish than the lunch menu and it's sadly mediocre and over-priced food for the portion size. My friends and I will not be back. The only good thing was the fig aquavit.

The food is pretty good but this is hands-down THE most irritating restaurant in NYC. Laughably incompetent staff, officious attitude, and that awful, pretentious Euro/Tribeca clientele.

Cold, uninspired "Scandinavian" food can be found here. Skip, and opt for a warmer atmosphere at the nearby Locanda Verde.
