Every dish was amazing. Super trendy but more expensive than you'd think. Get the octopus, cod, salmon sashimi, lamb belly, flat iron steak, strawberry desert. Every plate looks farm-to-foraged.

This trendy tapas spot is best known not only for its unique and delicious small plates, but an incredibly extensive and fairly priced wine list. Be sure to order the meatballs and lamb belly.

Standouts include robust pork meatballs and spicy octopus, which Kuo marinates for 24 hours in a dry rub of Japanese togarashi chiles, slow-cooks in mirin until tender, and then fries until crisp. Mehr erfahren

Literally everything was amazing... but if I HAD to choose, my fav bites were the sweetbreads & mussels. But if Marshall is your server, then eat/drink whatever he tells you. He won't steer you wrong!

Fluke, hamachi, cod plates are fantastic. Pair with one of 1800 wines or an innovative negroni. All accompanied by a spot-on 80s soundtrack that tells me these guys understand their target clientele!

Pearl & Ash, our 2014 winner for Best Restaurant Bar Program, offers punk-rock wine with its creative dishes. Start with togarashi-rubbed octopus and finish with Fernet-Branca ice cream sandwiches.

This place is amazing. Start with the bread with chicken butter and you'll be in heaven. The pork meatballs with shiitake and bonito were amazing as was the quail wrapped in chicken skin!

Excellent restaurant. The scallop appetizer is absolutely delicious. Their music playlist is really fun and gives a good ambiance to the restaurant.

Mercifully located in a non-fratty stretch of LES. Wonderful small plates are great for sharing, and for a casual restaurant the wine selection is incredible with a lot of decent bottles under $50.

I would describe P&A as a tasty, expensive tapas restaurant. Dishes are meant to be shared (3/ person is good). Order: Hanger Tartare, Bread, Pork Meatballs and Potatoes. Skip: Shrimp. #nyceats #soho

The divers scallops are a thrilling (and cheap!) starter. Skip the dull meatballs and get the smoked salmon or amazing skirt steak. And avoid the ice cream sandwich, it tastes like Vicks VapoRub. Mehr erfahren

Globally-inspired dishes are inventive, if on the small side. The real draw is the exceptionally well chosen wine list, which spans the world from Oregon to Lebanon.

Fernet-Branca Ice Cream Sandwich. Kuo bookends a block of Fernet-suffused ice cream (herbaceous & a hair shy of savory) w. 2 planks of soft, perforated chocolate cake & served wrapped in wax paper.

the pyramid of dark octopus tendrils and Humble green beans alone mark the chef, Richard Kuo, who cooked previously at the pop-up Frej, as a master of umami.
