I thought it was a Jewish museum with a focus on the holocaust, but it is interesting to know the history of the Jewish people and its proliferation around the world. Can spend a whole morning there

The Jewish Museum is the preeminent museum in the US, devoted exclusively to over 4,000 years of art and Jewish culture. Artists include Marc Chagall, George Segal, Eleanor Antin, and Deborah Kass.

Start on the top floor and work your way down through the permanent exhibits to go in chronological order. Otherwise the museum won't make sense.

Matthew McCaslin's Being The Light sculpture on the fourth floor is worth checking out. The piece is more than just a work of installation art, it functions as a menorah as well!

Quite an ambitious gallery display, fascinating and compelling even if you aren’t a chosen one, which I am, but you don’t have to be.

one the best museums in NYC with top, super high quality exhibitions. They often have art exhibitions for famous artists like man ray or eva hesse that fly under the radar. Seek it out, it's worth it.

Delve into permanent exhibit, "Culture and Continuity: The Jewish Journey." You can follow the story of the Jewish people through at least 800 art forms, from paintings to hip-hop showcases.

Interesante museo si se desea conocer a detalle la historia del pueblo Judío. El edificio fue una mansión considerada en su época de mal gusto.

Take a close look at the coins and medals showcased on the third floor. They are stunning. I liked the Portrait Medal of Moses Mendelssohn, but wished the reverse side had been displayed.

Pensé que era un museo de judíos con enfoque en el holocausto, aun asi es bastante interesante conocer la historia del pueblo judio y su proliferacion por el mundo.

Somehow the folks that run this spot haven't a clue of how much Jewish culture this is ABOVE 96th street. That is, after you've went through Fort Know security to get in! At least it's in proximity.

There’s menorah mania in the gift shop of this spot, which, considering the many exhibits that feature artists such as Pissarro or Soutine, could easily be called the "I Didn’t Know They Were Jewish!" Mehr erfahren
