Staying with Nicholas

Nicholas: This Pavement location has fantastic interior design, rotating original artwork, high ceilings, and options for study in your own space or at a large wooden table for six. Great coffee too!

Nicholas: Don't expect color, but apparel from this London-based design house is stylish and edgy. Expect higher prices and inconsistent customer service (at this location).

Nicholas: This is a unique Boston men's store.

Nicholas: Very busy on weekends and evenings; probably worth the wait regardless. Try the Florentine.

Nicholas: Great for brunch and a good beer list.

Nicholas: Great, but expensive, boutique shopping.

Nicholas: Take a walk along the Esplanade to see the Charles River. Start at either the west end at the Mass Ave bridge or the east end near the Public Gardens.

Nicholas: Walk around, people watch, read a book.

Nicholas: Fantastic Venezuelan food near home.

Nicholas: Walk around, not much else.

Nicholas: Popular sculpture in the hear of Boston. Take a picture if you're basic.

Nicholas: This is a park that runs parallel to Newbury St, if you want a break from all the people walking on the main shopping street.

Nicholas: Only visit the lounge in the evening before sunset for a cocktail. Dinner at the main restaurant is too expensive.

Nicholas: Good for a chocolate martini on the patio outside if the weather's nice enough.

Nicholas: Decent rooftop bar by Boston standards. Only if the weather's nice.

Nicholas: Great spot for walking, picture-taking, and reading along the reflecting pool.

Nicholas: Get a too-large slice of cheesecake. Very American.

Nicholas: Looks like a convenience store on the outside (with really old, out-dated products), walk in and towards the soda vending machine in the back right corner.

Nicholas: One of Boston's true boutique coffee shops. They serve Counter Culture (NC based roaster). Try Barismo for a Massachusetts based cup of joe.

Nicholas: Good for a quick, early-morning coffee and pastry.

Nicholas: Small gay bar in the South End. Find neighborhood locals here.

Nicholas: Larger, gay sports bar in the South End. Outdoor patio, ample space indoor, cheaper drinks than other bars.

Nicholas: The gay dance party 'Epic Saturdays' draws a basic circuit gay crowd. The music is solid and the venue is big. Hit or miss.

Nicholas: Boston's preeminent art museum.

Nicholas: Very, very touristy. Maybe worth seeing? Free samples and street performers.

Nicholas: Competes with Mike's Pastry, sometimes less busy, less selection of cannoli flavors.

Nicholas: This is my favorite spot for reading on the Charles River.

Nicholas: Find several Flour Bakery's around Boston. Famous for their sticky bun. Good for quick breakfast and a popular to-go eatery.

Nicholas: Good for an evening cocktail on the patio during the summer, or when the weather permits.

Nicholas: If you need a quick slice of pizza (to hold you over or as a meal), they are huge, and delicious.

Nicholas: This is my gym. One-day passes are $15.

Nicholas: Popular sandwich place near my apartment. The price is right.

Nicholas: Great for a quick lunch if you're shopping along Newbury or near the Boston Public Gardens.

Nicholas: Garden level Mexican fare and well-regarded margaritas.

Nicholas: Just a pretty square in a bustling part of Boston. Check out the Church and the Boston Public Library adjacent to the west of the square.

Nicholas: I haven't yet been (as of Oct 29, 2014), but I'm sure it's good. This museum has a fantastic wooden patio/amplitheater on the backend looking outwards towards Boston Harbor.

Nicholas: Fantastic for a nice dinner with cocktails and live music.

Nicholas: If you're spending time with me, I'm probably taking you here at some point. It's that good. The atmosphere and the cocktails are second to none.

Nicholas: Bustling BBQ restaurant in the lovely Davis Square area. Takes some time to get to on the red line, but worth the effort if you're a fan of delicious meat and southern fare.

Nicholas: Delicious pizza in Davis with a view straight into the large clay oven. If you're seated next to it, you'll definitely feel the heat. Also a good venue for cocktails and pin bowling.

Nicholas: Bougie cocktail bar in the up-and-coming South Boston / Seaport district.

Nicholas: I've never been on a tour, but they are decently popular and I'd be interested in going.

Nicholas: Casual, affordable, and cozy Italian in the South End. Dim lighting, low ceilings, and somewhat crowded, but an enjoyable atmosphere for intimate conversation.
