This site was established on July 4, 2003 and is devoted to the United States Constitution and its legacy. "Freedom Rising" is one its exhibitions; a 17-minute multimedia story about the Constitution.
The museum, which opened in 2003, has hosted political debates and speeches, including then-presidential candidate Barack Obama’s historic address on race in March 2008.
The audio tour is more like a video tour--not worth the $5 because it's hard to even find someplace quiet enough to watch a bunch of 4min videos. Prohibition exhibit (through 6/13) is great!
Best phrase in the whole museum: "yes, there may be problems with freedom, but the solution has never been to take freedom away". This museum is absolutely amazing, I wish to come back ASAP!
Check out "American Spirits: The Rise & Fall of Prohibition." During prohibition, Ma McGillin's shackled the front door of McGillin's. The bar survived by letting patrons in the side door for "tea."
OMG, this is a great experience, from live actor kickoff to the Signers' Room, where you can walk among our Founding Fathers. Check out the temporary "1968" exhibit too.
The PHLASH trolley runs Fri, Sat & Sun from 10-6 pm May-October 28, 2012. Just head to stops 2 or 18, buy a $2 ticket & you'll be on your way to seeing more of Philadelphia's attractions and museums. Mehr erfahren
Great museum with awesome exhibits. Check out Signer's Hall for the life size statue of the delegates. Just stay away from the café's cheesesteaks! Lol
First Lady Michelle Obama held a Grassroots Event on June 6, 2012 where she spoke to local supporters and volunteers at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. http://NBCpolitics.com
The National Constitution Center has more than 100 interactive exhibits that engages students to think about the ways the Constitution has shaped American democracy.
Barack Obama delivered his memorable speech on race in March 2008 at the National Constitution Center, and Obama and Hillary Clinton debated here in April 2008 during the Democratic primary race.
This is the spot to get your "We the People" on. Did you know that the dimensions of Signers’ Hall are the same as the room where the document was signed in Independence Hall, only two blocks away? Mehr erfahren
Did you know? More than 11,000 amendments to the Constitution have been proposed to Congress. 33 of those have gone to the states to be voted on and ratified, and 27 have been approved as amendments. Mehr erfahren
