- Jeff Stark★April 20, 2015Try the po-boys always a good choice. Pictured is the po-boy1/2 shrimp 1/2 & clams. Plenty of parking in the back. Look for the pink building. They open at 11AM during the week and noon on Sunday's.
- RaquelMärz 10, 2019Delicious gumbo and poboys! Friendly and efficient staff even when they’re exhausted after Mardi Gras. It wasn’t a planned stop so it was a pleasant surprise!
- Lisa ClappJuni 11, 2012If you're staying downtown or in French Quarter, take a streetcar ride down Canal St to this mid-city neighborhood restaurant. Creole Italian at its best! Love the stuffed shrimp special on Fridays.
- Maayan HaimOktober 24, 2018I got the Wednesday special- stuffed bell pepper and it was amazing! Also not expensive and very generous portions
- EaterOktober 5, 2011A Canal Street institution drawing patrons for lunch and dinner, Mandina’s menu is creole and Italian, offering fried seafood, po’ boys, sandwiches, and Italian classics. [Eater 38 Member]
- Melonee GainesJuly 6, 2016Big servings! Try the daily specials. You can't go wrong with the NOLA cuisine standards. Family friendly.
- Arjumand BonhommeOktober 28, 2014Had the turtle soup, it was good, but I was disappointed to find out there's no actual turtle. Red beans are pretty good. Grilled pork chop is AMAZING!
- All delicious: Crawfish cake special, turtle soup, spaghetti & meatballs, and shrimp creole. A bit pricier than lesser-known local joints, but an overall good experience.
- EpicuriousMärz 10, 2015The turtle soup is some of the best in town. The po'boys are good, too. And the bartenders are particularly adept at Sazeracs and Old Fashioneds. Mehr erfahren
- Eric DNovember 1, 2014Classic New Orleans cuisine. They do beautiful things with crab and crawfish. Right on Canal so it's easy to hop a streetcar to/from the quarter.
- Stephen SmytheJuni 23, 2015Traditional joint out of the French Quarter that is big on portions and nostalgia. The mains are great and the seafood fresh but the service lacking and the sides bland.
- Fried fish or fish Meunière are great along with their Sazaracs!
- Lily MatavaMärz 19, 2015Best gumbo ever! Also the shrimp po boy was amazing!!! I can't wait to get back to New Orleans to eat here again!
- Sean C.Mai 6, 2011Amazing food. Order a cup of turtle soup and a 1/2 and 1/2 on a half. Best decision you will ever make. Food will fill you up. Come hunger leave happy!!!
- Laurette WilliamsMai 22, 2021The gumbo was delicious. Seafood platter enough for two people. All food was good. Good service.
- EpicuriousAugust 23, 2010This newly-rebuilt restaurant has been in operation since 1932 and is loved by everyone who visits. The specialties are New Orleans favorites, like turtle soup and trout amandine.
- Just Sayin’November 7, 2013And though I had a bad experience with the food our waiter was very understanding and apologetic and offered to take it off my bill and give me a gumbo on the house.
- My bf is obsessed with the ponchartrain fish. I like the red beans and rice.
- Hank CarusoFebruar 10, 2017Food was very pricey. I am originally from NOLA and try to eat a roast beef poboy every time I go home. The sandwich here was average at best. Sandwich fell apart and I had to finish it with a fork.
- Trish KellyApril 29, 2013They do take credit cards now. They have for about two years now. Loved the shrimp creole!!!!
- The bar has no barstools! I love the turtle soup au sherry even though Tom Fitzmorris says it has eggs instead of turtle in it.
- Marc PApril 2, 2015My first official stop on my short trip to NOLA. Had to have a po'boy! Delicious!!
- Jerrell JeffersonFebruar 20, 2017Delicious turtle soup and seafood gumbo. Fried plates were alright.
- Britt L.Dezember 31, 2011Edward was great! Order the turtle soup and eggplant special if it's a Friday.
- GourmetLiveMärz 4, 2011This Mardi Gras season try the Turtle soup and Crawfish etouffee. It’s a Saturday special in Italian-Creole at this downhome standby.
- Just Sayin’November 7, 2013This places food is what I imagine you'd find in an old folks home cafeteria with 5-star prices. Ordered a crawfish etouffee that reminded me too much of cat food I couldn't touch it. All around bland
- Kunal ShahNovember 7, 2010the plates are enormous, split with friends, or get a few smaller items if you are by yourself
- Talisa ChangJuly 21, 2013We split a grilled shrimp salad and a meatball sub and I'm still excited about it.
- @sloaneJanuar 11, 2010Ask to sit in Mister Eddie's section. You won't be sorry! Great old-timer with lots of stories.
