Jesse Johnston: In a city that doesn't have many breakfast (read: none) options, Ivy Place serves high quality food, bottomless coffee and opens at 7am daily.

Jesse Johnston: Who doesn't like honey almond milk lattes? The truck moves around campus frequently, but if you find it, I highly recommend you try one!

Jesse Johnston: This is the Montebello of East Bay, complete with a few medium-effort 4-5 mile loops, great views and interesting terrain. Super quiet!

Jesse Johnston: Half burger joint, half whisky bar located in a safe, central part of Berkeley. The fries in particular are delicious, and the menu is huge.

Jesse Johnston: This brand isn't in the US, but they'd make a killing if they were! Well made clothes (the jeans especially) at reasonable-ish prices.

Jesse Johnston: Beautiful spot to enjoy the view of the Swiss Alps in the distance, and possibly catch a 4-hour tour boat if they're in season (~$20USD/pp).

Jesse Johnston: As awesome by night as it is by day, with the W hotel on one side and the marina on the other. Popular with joggers, cyclists and CFers too!

Jesse Johnston: The food here reminds me southern US cooking, with real BBQ and massive portions. They offer a wide range of beers to go with any burger!

Jesse Johnston: Upscale alternative to the Radisson Blu, complete with spa services and a beautiful pool and gym in the basement. Worth the splurge!

Jesse Johnston: For a few USD, you can easily spend half a day admiring the taxidermy animals, learning about crystals and avoiding the spider section. :)

Jesse Johnston: Zoya is the Whole Foods Market of Bulgaria, and it carries damn near as many products. Get your local, organic creams, oils and bulk food.

Jesse Johnston: Hands down the best and most authentic Bulgarian food in Sofia. The prices are great, and the menu is dozens of pages long. Try the beef!

Jesse Johnston: We stumbled upon this by accident, and we're so glad we did! Gluten-free baked goods and strong espresso drinks. All natural and organic!

Jesse Johnston: One of the best equipped gyms I've ever been in, especially outside the US. Great staff, banging music, and super well equipped. $14USD/day!

Jesse Johnston: Expedia details this as a 'business hotel,' but I found its quarters super romantic as well. Great location, clever gym, and tasty breakfast

Jesse Johnston: Worth a visit, every time. Skip the long queues and take the stairs instead, which contain plaques detailing the long history of the tower.

Jesse Johnston: American-style burger joint with organic meat, a "protein style" lettuce-wrap option, and homemade ketchup. Great for a quick lunch!

Jesse Johnston: The size and layout of this museum means you could spend days exploring it, but go with half a dozen 'goals' in mind to help focus your time

Jesse Johnston: Certainly a tourist destination, but worth waiting in line for. The interior is plenty beautiful, but the exterior at dusk is unforgettable.

Jesse Johnston: Don't be put back by the small floor plan - this store has everything you can imagine, including a coffee/shake bar, salad/hot bar and deli.

Jesse Johnston: Although the venue itself is still reminiscent of the club that used to occupy this space, the food is delicious and their gluten free (rice-based) offerings are on point.

Jesse Johnston: Listen, you know the line is crazy but you want to know if it's worth it, right? As someone who doesn't enjoy waiting in lines - yes, it's absolutely worth it. Grab a coffee, queue, and chow down!
