- Doug de WetJuly 26, 2016The Raviolo di ricotta is decadent and wonderful. Rich egg yolk, nutty brown butter, salty aged cheese, sweet, creamy ricotta enclosed in perfect fresh pasta to form a luxurious, sexy umami bomb.Sep 20 positiv bewertet
- Wilson Favre-DelerueFebruar 4, 2018Warm and inviting, esp. evenings w/ superb lighting and a fire burning in the wood-fired oven and asado. If you don’t mind the heat, sit at the counter and see the delicious magic happen.
- EaterDezember 4, 2014The warmth of the flickering hearth in the kitchen, great service, an innovative fixed price wine program, and Michael Tusk's pasta throwbacks make this one of the best Italian Restaurants in SF. Mehr erfahren
- Riad MJanuar 8, 2022The focaccia is huge but soo light and airy. The ravioli as good as everyone says, and then some. And the fried tuscan chicken is juicy with a nice kick. The occidental pinot noir was a bonus! Perfect
- Fresh pastas are amazing. Hard to go wrong. They also have great cocktails and a wine list where every bottle is just $40. My favorite, though, are their roasted meats. They'll often roast a whole pig
- Allison KaminskiSeptember 5, 2015Super trendy/warm ambiance. Agnolotti was delish. My boyfriend had two servings of the wild nettle &Chesnut honey tortellini. He said it was heaven in a pasta pocket and the best pasta he ever had!
- Ashok LalwaniMärz 29, 2015Trendy place with a great wine list. Server recommended amazing wines that went well with food and also my prefs. Mushroom, kale & smoked ricotta pizza was delicious. Highly recommend the desserts.
- Burrata, lamb, and tagliatelle were all among the best items I've ever had in the city.
- MarcJanuar 25, 2016Eater '16 BEST SPOT 4 SOLO LUNCH - Dining room or sit outside; Tagliatelle w/sweet crab w/lime juice & pepper; feather-shaped fillets of Petrale sole w/peas. 4dessrt: rhubarb clafouti w/pistch gelato
- AD NysOktober 20, 2013No reservations? No worries. Cozy up to the fire at the chef's counter. Enjoy a close-up view of the pizza, veggie and wood-fired prep and friendly conversation with the sous chefs.
- Léo GrimaldiAugust 24, 2019Any Gelato is fantastic. Madeleine's mint gelato is just the best mint icecream ever, kudos to Madeleine. And then there's their rooftop honey comb gelato, it's so good, kudos to the bees.
- EaterMärz 16, 2016The brick- and wood-lined dining room is animated without being frantic, the cooking defines the modern California-Italian ethos, and Michael Tusk is nothing less than a pasta savant. Mehr erfahren
- AFAR MediaAugust 12, 2014The pastas are all handmade, and if there's any variation of bolognese on the menu, order it. The pizzas have a crackly, paper thin crust with a delicate sprinkling of local, seasonal ingredients. Mehr erfahren
- Definitely a favorite for Italian in the city. The pasta is insane. Pizza is as you’d expect from a wood fire oven. Cocktails are dependably solid (try the espresso martini with bourbon).
- Andrew LamJuly 15, 2013My runner-up favorite restaurant in SF. What can I say? The food is awesome and the service is perfect. Non-reserve wines are all $40/bottle. NB: Sunday suppers and weekday brown bag lunches!
- Diana RichterJuni 13, 2019Lovely team and great atmosphere. Wasn’t blown away by the food, once it cooled down it became quite chewy (both pasta and pizza) but the gelato served table-side was divine.
- Marcela SaponeSeptember 5, 2016Be hungry when you come -- everything is good -- but cocktails are a little sweet so ask for them without syrup (it's not listed)
- MAugust 22, 2017Best pasta I have ever tasted!! Raviolo (not ravioli!) With egg and brown sugar was to die for! The triangolini with chives and corn also nice but a bit sweet.
- EaterApril 12, 2016Cotogna is the casual Italian restaurant of your dreams, an easy E38 pick. Good luck getting a table, though. Mehr erfahren
- AmateurConciergeAugust 26, 2023Excellent pastas and pizza….but generally just dining experience. The corn filled pasta was def the highlight for me, but the fam loved the gnocco frito
- olivier PEYREOktober 13, 2017Modern Italian in North Beach. Every meal I've had there (including brunch) was a treat for the eyes and mouth. And they offer lovely sidewalk seating.
- Dilek UnarMärz 25, 2018Mushroom,leek and ricotta pizza is yummy. As an appetizer, avocado salad and potato & garlic soup is definitely recommended. Panna cotta with honeycombs is great.
- Aysu OzgurJanuar 4, 2019Warm environment, great service, and delicious food. We ordered the prosciutto appetizer, mushroom pizza, raviolo, and sirloin. The only thing we would not order again is the sirloin.
- Mike DJuni 7, 2016The all $50 wine list is a cool idea. Sit at the bar in front of the pizza oven on a chilly night & listen to a tech bro try to impress his date by speaking Spanish to the cooks.
- Ievyy MMai 6, 2019Definitely best place in town!!! Try and you will not regret staying in long queue
- SFGateJanuar 13, 2015The eggs Benedict here are made with prosciutto cotto rather than Canadian bacon and are blanketed with a hollandaise sauce so rich it deserves its own tax bracket. Mehr erfahren
- Awen ThomasOktober 23, 2015One of the best place for Italian food in San Francisco, CA. They provide good food service and the bar is open throughout the day. Mehr erfahren
- YukoMai 14, 2013Mimosa was really fresh, so good match for hot day's brunch. I ordered asparagus, ravioli, and halibut. Not big-volume, but so tasty. Food was served with yummy focaccia. Atmosphere was stylish.
- Alena TimchenkoJanuar 6, 2017Тонкое тесто для пиццы прекрасно дополняется ароматными грибами и сыром. Паста, закуски, десерты, атмосфера-всё прекрасно! Самое вкусное место в котором побывали в SF
- Travel + LeisureSeptember 27, 2013Most plates come from the open hearth, including succulent, spit-roasted meats and wood-fired pizzas. The pastas are a must—try the buttery raviolo di ricotta with farm egg.
- SFGateAugust 2, 2014Specialties: Ricotta ravioli with farm egg; agnolotti dal plin; pizza; spit-roasted pork; house-made mortadella; carrots roasted with rooftop honey; fruit crostata. Mehr erfahren
- Douglas GrayMai 26, 2019The raviolo di ricotta with farm egg is fantastic. Use a spoon so you don’t leave any of the filling/sauce behind.
- Wally NJuni 25, 2018This is certainly the best Italian in SF and that’s a damning indictment of the Italian food scene here. It is totally fine—wonderful relative other north beach options—but just not that great.
- Nathan JSeptember 20, 2019My favorite Italian spot in the bay. Get the raviolo and the truffle pasta. Service is outstanding.
- @mecee (Christopher Calicott)Juni 4, 2022One of the better Italian programs on a wine list I’ve seen in recent years. Look for the value selections in there—some solid finds.
- Elias BizOktober 12, 2015Amazing food. The Sunday fixed menu was awesome: tasty, varied and filling. Except for the still water bottle: it tastes like tap water for $12.
- Andrew HarastaMärz 27, 2018Ravioli are some of the best I’ve ever had! Food and service was amazing, would love to try chef’s table or brunch sometime.
- markFebruar 16, 2017One of the best meals you can have in this price range anywhere. Chef combinations were incredible. Get a side of focaccia
- Block122Juni 29, 2012Get there early and grab a seat at the bar. Drink by the glass so you can experience as many of the amazing Italian varietals as possible. Menu changes alot. Put yourself in the waiter's hands.
- SFGateAugust 2, 2014One of the best deals in the city is the nightly three-course menu for $24. No wonder Cotogna is one of the most coveted reservations in town. Mehr erfahren
- Rachel KingSeptember 18, 2014It's off-menu, but the vegan risotto with brussels sprouts is AMAZING. I wanted to lick the plate, but this is a fancy-ish place, so I kept it together like a lady.
- The Taste SheriffFebruar 1, 2018Cotogna has among the best pasta dishes in San Francisco. It's pricey and the portions are small but expect to eat really well!
- NmMärz 4, 2016One of the best ravioli ever but very small portion .. Wild nettles pizza is a must ..
- Filipe FortesJanuar 31, 2013Paleo Options - Apps: Sardines, Coppa di Testa, Vitello tonnato; Mains: Grilled Sea Bass, Rabbit, various specials; Sides: Brussel Sprouts, Broccoli, Roasted Sunchokes
- Priya SaiprasadMärz 9, 2013Both the pizzas and pastas are great but the real highlight is the focaccia bread you get at the beginning. It's incredible! And the wine selection is fabulous.
- Arden GinsbergAugust 25, 2013The food is fabulous. Clean simple fresh flavors. Squash affogato, yum. Gnocchi delicious. Next time I'm in town this is the place to go.
- Frede AndradeAugust 19, 2018Muito bom !! Imperdível!! Prosciutto c pastel de entrada. E as massas são excelentes, como essa.
