One of the best places to go in the Twin Cities & the best museum in Minnesota IMO. Offers a variety of art styles, mediums & eras. Gets many of the tours including da Vinci, the Louvre & Rembrandt.

This museum is incredible. Yes, there's fabulous fine art. But there are also many interesting objects from the ancient world to contemporary items. All in a glorious building. Do not miss it!

Absolutely loved the Art in Bloom exhibition. I brought children to this event, activities were great for all ages. We got to enjoy other exhibits as well. Great visit over all.

Minneapolis is blessed with some amazing museums and this is one of my favourites...not to mention it has the children's theatre which is one of the best in the country!

Amazing collection. We spent 4 hours walking around and barely even touched the third floor. I think I'll need another few days in this place to see it all.

Voted Best Museum of 2013! With the exception of special exhibits, the halls are always free. And not only indulge in the art but listen to live music and drink to your heart's content. Mehr erfahren

Pretty large gallery and free! It's easy to spend hours here. What's not to love? Check out events and such held here.

I enjoyed my visit here! I got to look at awesome works of art and read the history behind everything. Would definitely recommend people to visit at least once!

Had no idea there was such a wonderful museum that was free! We were only able to spend a couple of hours there, but we will go back! Such a wonderfully diverse collection!

Visiting from out of two and was pleasantly surprised with this museum. For a free museum, this place has plenty to see and you could spend an entire day looking at things!

For some reason I didn't expect Mpls to have a great art museum but they some fine works and a great layout that will keep me going back since it is free as well

Check the calendar for Family Days (about once a month, on Sundays). Tons of activities for kids (based on the theme for the month), all totally free.

Must see museum. It is free and has a great collection of art. Stop for coffee and sandwiches too.

Free admission and guided tours available. Once a month is Target Family Day, make art, meat artists and more. This museum is large and they have impressive exhibits covering a wide range of styles. Mehr erfahren

Voted "Best View" of the Minneapolis Skyline by City Pages in 2012! The museum is filled with amazing things to see, but one of the prettiest pictures it holds is outside.

Make sure you go for Delacroix’s Influence: The Rise of Modern Art from Cézanne to van Gogh . Great Exhibit.

The MIA has been cultivating its permanent Asian art collection, which spans 17 cultures, for more than 90 years. It's definitely worth at least 17 chunks of your time.

Eat before you come. Grainstack is closed indefinitely. Halfpint is often closed. Dogwood is open, so at least there is coffee!
