I highly recommend coming to Mijas over Christmas, Easter or Summer. A chance to see some of the local community's spirited events - complete with beautiful lights, food and people!
Hit bars along Playa Los Boliches, the second-hand goods market, or spend a day on the beach - the promenade is wonderful for a dog walk. Bodega El Tostón or Casa Colon are the places to eat!
A great place for breakfast, people-watching & taking in the Mijas atmosphere. Very relaxing. Try the fried eggs on the "bimbo/prostitute" toast as it is known locally! Of course sit outside too!
Great atmosphere in the evening, sit outside in the square. Try the dish with the delicious squid ink noodles, always cooked to perfection. The staff are great here, too.
